Joel Grenier is a 2nd generation farmer from St Labre, Manitoba. The land his hog farm, Gringo Hogs, resides on has been in his family for over 100 years.
In 2002, they built a 2000 head finisher barn and immediately saw land benefits with manure application. 2004 saw barn number two constructed.
Through Maple Leaf Agri-Farms, and with Topigs Canada Nucleus located just down the road, Gringo Hogs adapted to raise premium gilts and iso-weans. They are proud to be a part of the Maple Leaf Raised Without Antibiotic (RWA) Program.
In 2015, Gringo Hogs was sold to the next generation, Danielle and Joel Grenier. Within a few short years, blueprints, permits and a Provincial Tech Review began. With a shift in focus to pig comfort, low stress loading, and improved air flow, barn number three was constructed, bringing us to today.
This partially slatted, heated floor, open penning barn features Crystal Springs feeders/waterers, Flygt manure pumps, AP Cumberland penning, feed systems and bins, LB White heaters are much more.
